From a family background of natural medicine, Dr. Jackie Zhang has been inspired by her father since a very young age. She started her apprenticeship in the art of acupuncture and Chinese medicine as a teenager. After observing patient after patient enter the clinic in pain and after receiving treatment seeing them leave with a smile, she decided to pursue a career in natural healing. She attended Old Strathcona Academic high school and later enrolled in the University of Alberta. She graduated from one of the leading Chiropractic schools in North America, the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto in 2002. In chiropractic school, she successfully completed the Clinical Acupuncture program certified by the Acupuncture Council of Ontario. After graduation, she studied under Dr. Li Ping Fu, chief of the acupuncture department at the prestigious Rui Jin Hospital in Shanghai, China. In Shanghai she was also taught by the chief of the Famous Doctors Clinic, Dr. You Yi Zhen who considerably furthered her knowledge of acupuncture.
Dr. Jackie Zhang combines her knowledge of a strong western science background with the intuitive eastern art of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. She has inherited a sense of warmth, compassion, and a blessed healing touch. She focuses on patient education and communication, encouraging each person to take responsibility for his or her own health. She treats the body as a whole by featuring the mind, body and soul. |
