Dr. Ken Zhang

Dr. Ken Zhang graduated from the China Wuhan Medical School in 1962.  He was a research doctor of acupuncture for deaf and mute children as well as school doctor of Shanghai Second Deaf and Mute School from 1971 to 1973.  During that period of time, he strategically enhanced his acupuncture skills by working with world famous acupuncture specialists at the Shanghai Long Hua Hospital.  He practiced as a physician and acupuncturist at Shanghai Jiangsu Hospital from 1974 to 1980 after which he immigrated to Canada.

Since establishing China Herbal & Acupuncture Centre Ltd in Edmonton in 1982, Dr. Ken Zhang has helped thousands of Albertans with their health issues.  His warmth, compassion, knowledge of eastern and western medicine as well as over thirty years of practical experience brings excellent results.  He has made the China Herbal & Acupuncture Centre clinic one of the most respected in Edmonton as well as abroad.  Dr. Ken Zhang has turned many skeptics of acupuncture and Chinese medicine into firm believers of this natural healing art. He has treated three generations of patients, from babies to seniors.  In 2005, Dr. Ken Zhang was honored with the Centennial Medal from the Alberta government in recognition of outstanding service to the people and province of Alberta.
Dr. Jackie Zhang

From a family background of natural medicine, Dr. Jackie Zhang has been inspired by her father since a very young age.  She started her apprenticeship in the art of acupuncture and Chinese medicine as a teenager.  After observing patient after patient enter the clinic in pain and after receiving treatment seeing them leave with a smile, she decided to pursue a career in natural healing.  She attended Old Strathcona Academic high school and later enrolled in the University of Alberta.  She graduated from one of the leading Chiropractic schools in North America, the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto in 2002.  In chiropractic school, she successfully completed the Clinical Acupuncture program certified by the Acupuncture Council of Ontario.  After graduation, she studied under Dr. Li Ping Fu, chief of the acupuncture department at the prestigious Rui Jin Hospital in Shanghai, China.  In Shanghai she was also taught by the chief of the Famous Doctors Clinic, Dr. You Yi Zhen who considerably furthered her knowledge of acupuncture.

Dr. Jackie Zhang combines her knowledge of a strong western science background with the intuitive eastern art of acupuncture and Chinese medicine.  She has inherited a sense of warmth, compassion, and a blessed healing touch.   She focuses on patient education and communication, encouraging each person to take responsibility for his or her own health.  She treats the body as a whole by featuring the mind, body and soul.
